There's a new terror in the water. This terrifying sea creature looks like it's right out of a scary Georgia O'Keefe painting. But it is very real. You can see for yourself right outside Naples, Florida, along Marco Island's South Beach.

This bizarre sea species is known as the "horse conch." Technically it goes by Triplofusus giganteus (previously known as Pleuroploca gigantic). It is a "species of extremely large predatory subtropical and tropical sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Fasciolariidae, the spindle snails, tulip snails and their allies."
