Since the '50s over a million people have left Detroit (a quarter of which have left in the past decade). This mass exodus has resulted in a largely-abandoned city. While derelict buildings may seem like urban ruins to some, to others they're massive playgrounds, prime for kickass street skiing.
Karl Fostvedt, Khai Krepela and Max Morello were filmed by Poor Boyz Productions, packing snow to make ski jumps in abandoned buildings across the city. The video is interspersed with interviews about the city of Detroit and how those who love the city are working hard to bring it back to life. [Grist]
